Hint of mint

Mint green is considered to be refreshing color, associates with relax atmosphere, promotes deep and calm breathing. That’s what we missing in Dubai summer! It looks great on tan skin and makes us tasty this season.
Delicious combination of mint green and dark browns reminds me of mint ice cream with chocolate chips. Yammy! Or compliment your tan with mint green and nudes. Spotted couple of swimwear in JBR recently in this gorgeous color. Looks amazing!
For more interesting look, experiment with patterns or achromatic colors (white, black), for playful - with brights, wear it with light greys for relaxed look, dark greys for the office or keep it elegant like in Fendi collection.

Latest masterpiece

One of my recent work - pleated gown, I made a clutch in the same color with Swarovski crystals.
Chiffon - 10 dhm per yard from Rinco BurDubai Meena bazaar
Accordion pleating - 10 dhm per yard factory in Ajman (contact person Bassam 0507850055)
Stretch silk - 90 dhm per yard from Rinco BurDubai Meena bazaar
Had a problem with pleating (as I was not dealing with the factory directly), first time pleats started from one point and spread like a fan, which I didn't want. If you need, contact Bassam directly and guys from the factory will speak to you, as they come over twice a day to get or bring orders for laser cuttings, pleating for fashion houses like Michael Cinco, Amato Couture. We met at Mercato in the evening, next evening I already picked up my 13 yards. They are very polite and understand fashion terms and felt relieved.

Steal of the week

Be stylish doesn't mean to have big bucks! And if you like something from the established designers with so many stores in the city we can discover good alternatives.

Happy shopping!

Sheer appear

Sheer pants were on runways for couple of years but still didn't become popular due to obvious reasons, especially in Middle East. So if you want to be first to rock this look, here are some tips. And it's all about layering and proportions.
Certainly, they should be worn with shorts like in Michael Kors collection or paired with other pants or leggings underneath (Chanel). For more interesting look improvise with printed leggings.
I would offer as well to have them on with interesting printed or textured tunic, shirt dress (crochet, lace) or sweater like in Rebecca Taylor or Antonio Marras (but with good coverage) looks. For minimal look top sheer pants with a not so tight skirt (Givenchy) in leather. If you still do not feel comfortable to wear mini try combination of sheer pants+mini skirt+tank top+long cardigan.
Keep proportions to make your legs look longer: more sheer legs than covered plus high heels. If you are tall you can play with proportions and wear low heels.
So why we should prefer them over the sheer tights? Because we can style them under skirts, tunics, dresses, sweaters or above the shorts, leggings and skinnies. So many looks with one pair of sheer pants!

P.S. WANTED. Let me know if you find any in affortable stores across Dubai.

Love your boody

For showing your best assets, consider first your body type and then choose current trends to flatter. I personally like the website http://www.myshape.com/shop/body-shape to find our which shape you are and get the tips, style recommendations, dos and don'ts. In APPAREL section of the website choose your body type and check for more styles.

Printed matter

Prints and patterns are still in this summer.  Pair it down with nudes for very busy patterns, pick nuance color from the palette or just match your lipstick. Don't go too matchy-matchy with accessories otherwise it will end up look overdone. Have fun!

Bohemian look

The term "bohemian" has often been used to refer to the fashions and lifestyles of writers, artists, and other individuals who live outside of the norms and standards of other members of society. But now we fully embrace it and can see all over the runways. For me, this style is about dressing up comfortable and easy to pull it off. Here I want to show that it's not only about peasant skirts or gypsy striking colors:

Resort Summer 2011

What I love about Lakme Fashion weeks, that it's always about vibrancy of colors and textures and proud heritage. Here I want to share with you the best of resort wear 2011 showcased during this prestigious event.

Anamika Khanna presented androgynous collection embracing traditional wear in cool palette of grey, blue, nude, off white and black for the evening. Very practical and cool for summer months to stay in style.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee got inspired by the colors of the Indian Tiger and got use of yellow, orange, brown, black and ivory in the collection. I personally admire the designer ability to pull off traditional original fabrics and style it up in modern way.

Sanjay Hingu will keep men look and feel cool this summer with so 70's color combination of powder blue, beige, mustard, grey. Not liking the stockings on men, but the rest of the collection feels fresh and practical.

Pria Kataaria Puri is a queen of resort wear offers next hot months to stay exotic in her Marrakech inspired collection. Flowing maxi dresses, tunics in yellow, orange, off white, apple green with matching details like tassels, fringe on hem and sandals, embroidery complimenting the prints, hair styling are giving glamorous touches without compromising with comfort.

From emerging designers I love pieces from Atithi Gupta collection with soft, powder like colors of chiffon, crepe, cotton.  Garments look effortless and casually chic.

Great chunky accessories from Suhani Pittie and reptile inspired bags from Prabhat Kumar.  So chic and dangerous!

Satya Paul showed some stunning Red Carpet ready dresses in collection called "Jewels of the Sea". He fully used the theme colors and embellishments to show some drama. Personally would love to own the first dress. As per latest news he will showcase his collection in Dubai Fashion Week A/W 2011-2012!
