How to wear pussy bow blouses

Bow tie blouse, pussy bow blouse whatever you call it, it’s back together with 70’s glamour. This blouse is very feminine, playful and flattering most of body types and appropriate for all age groups.
For small bust girls tie a big bow above the chest area, for bustier girls choose V neck. It so versatile, we can wear it with shorts, jeans, flared pants, skinny jeans/pants, pencil skirts, sheath dresses and layer it with vests, jackets and etc.
Overall tip to look up-to-date is to combine feminine soft blouse with mannish pieces like:
-          Pencil skirts or sheath dress for classy-sassy office style. So Mad Man girls!
-          Make it loose over or tuck it under skinny jeans
-          Layer under leather jacket, not a cardigan, prefer masculine touch for edgy look
-          Prefer structural skirts or skirts made of quite stiff fabrics
-          Tuck it under the flared trousers for 70’s vibe
-          Pair with carrot top or peg top trousers/shorts or crop pants
-          Experiment with color and patterns
-          Keep accessories to a minimum

I see Color Stripes

I have the newest garment,
I love to wear it right;
For hidden in its colored stripes
Is a great delight.

Each color holds a piece, you see,
Of a story dear and true;
And because I love it so,
I'm sharing it with you!
I found that poem over the internet about colored stripes (originally it’s about blanket) and modified it a bit. The same about the trend, which is not new to the world, but differently styled for Spring/Summer 2011 and ongoing Autumn/Winter. And colored stripes are always my favorite pattern.

Thanks to high street brands that they really embrace this trend.

Stripes magnify and draw instant attention wherever we wear them. I will remind that the horizontal stripes make us broader, so consciously choose stripes to dress up. Karen Millen plays wisely by placing panels to frame a shape. Mango’s circular stripes hide hips. Diagonal stripes are flattering for all body types, but V stripes in Bebe piece will camouflage hips too and make us taller at the same time. Verticals will lengthen the body.
Styling tips for the modern look:
- Inject solid brights with this pattern
- Combine horizontal, vertical or diagonal stripes together like in Mango dresses
- Play with different width of stripes and colors like in Prada
- Try color stripes with achromatic geometric patterns like polka dot, zigzag and etc.
Do not wear stripes from head to toe, otherwise people around you will feel dizzy!

Steal of the week

High street fashion brands offer us their vision of pret-a porter. Not exact knock offs but quite good alternative!

Steal of the week: Tropicana

Fashion is going gaga with all over tropicana prints. Very summery and bold, definitely the choice is not for everyone, it's so childish and that's why we love it.

Go banana!

Midi attire

Another style that has a comeback from 70’s is midi length. Not many of us would embrace the trend, as it’s often considered for middle aged or more suitable for librarians and teachers.
I might say to rock midis are more difficult than minis. Minis make us look younger and taller, while midis require more thoughtful styling unless you are tall and slim as the models on the runway. For young midi style incorporate prints, graphics, color block or lace in your outfit, or choose unusual shape like Fendi or sheer like Cerruti.

If you have not so thin calves, wear hemmed it at the narrower point of your calf above or below the knee cap, avoid any lengths that appears to end at the widest part of your calf. Otherwise legs will look even bigger than they are.
If you are curvy prefer fitted skirt/dress over flared.
If you are petite, since the length cuts us (proportion wise) on half we need to elongate the body by:
-       Tuck the blouse under skirt
-       Have high waist line
-       Have short or sheer blouses, bustier or  short jackets/cardigans over
-       Accessorize with thin belt

-       Use color block wisely since it’s about playing with proportions
-       Choose garment with uneven hem, opening in the front or slits
-       Get sheer skirts/dresses for modern look
-       Wear with open sandals/wedges/platforms or nude/metallic pumps without ankle straps or nude straps, kitten heels, long boots or shoes/boots with tights of the same color
                          Happy midi-day!

Colorblock

A lot of us played wood color block pyramid toy in our childhood and now it’s time for grownups to experiment with bold colors this year. It’s all about mixing and matching solid colors in one garment or building a look. Just do not end up like a clown, where are some tips, according to color wheel theory.
Primary colors: These are colors that cannot be created through the mixing of other colors: red, yellow and blue.  Play with breaking between these clashing colors with big panels of white, nudes, black or grey like in Yves Saint Lauren Mondrian vintage 50’s dress. Or blend only two colors like Maurizio Pecoraro in Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
Primary colors that are mixed together produce secondary colors: orange, green and violet.  Quiet intense combination, so try to tone down one or two of the colors like Gucci. Use bright color to draw attention to your best assets.
Complimentary colors: Hues on opposite sides of the color wheel are complementary colors. For example, use the same intensity of blue and orange for a brave combination, for example Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011 look.
Analogous colors: Combinations of two or three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel are pleasing to the eye. Red, orange, and yellow go well together in the dress by PPQ.
Monochromatic colors: Varying the intensity of a single color can create a beautiful combination. Pair dark, medium, and light shades of your favorite color for a soothing color scheme like Cynthia Steffe. It’s considered very safe for color block trend and easiest to wear.
To minimize unwanted curves find a garment with darker/neutral panels covering them or draw attention away by placing brighter color away from problematic zones.  Play wise with vertical blocks/stripes to lengthen your body, with horizontal – to broaden necessary areas. Diagonal stripes/blocks are more versatile and compliment all body types.
Finish the look with shoes and a bag in juicy colors...

                                                                     Happy coloring :)
